Basically a little bit like our Dodo bird. It will be shipped in easily to install 8 pieces (Skull, 4 fins, main rip cage and the tail is in 2 pieces). Also gallery steel cables for hanging are included.

Mosasaurus is the type genus of an extinct group of aquatic reptiles. Also often described as a “marine dinosaur” it is more related to snakes and lizards, as the type genus of the family Mosasauridae and the subfamily Mosasaurinae, Mosasaurusis is a member of the order Squamata. Relationships between mosasaurs and living squamates remain controversial as scientists still debate on whether the closest living relatives of mosasaurs are monitor lizards or snakes.

The first fossils were found in a chalk quarry near the Dutch city of Maastricht in the late 18th century. Because it was unlike any known living marine animal, it helped developing the concept of extinction. Tylosaurus was the third new genus of mosasaur to be described from North America.

The main colors of this replica are ivory white or brown like seen in the pictures.

The skeleton itself is made from mixed media, mostly high definition industrial resins. Everything is hand painted. With real violin lacquer used in the finish.
