You will get a highly detailed dinosaur skull sculpture, handpainted in the color scheme like in the pictures with wood and brass base. The lower jaw is movable and adjustable by thumb screw.
The skull and black teeth with serrated edges are 3d scanned in parts from real fossils and made to look like a real old victorian museum piece. Because of the possible options, your dinosaur will be made for you by order.

A real fossil in this size and condition would cost you at least 10.000$ and much more at auction houses like Sotheby’s or Christy’s today.

My sculpture is based on fossils of bigger sized dinosaurs of the genus Velociraptorinae, a subfamily of the theropod group Dromaeosauridae - velociraptor is part of this genus. The earliest velociraptorines are probably Nuthetes from the United Kingdom, and possibly Deinonychus from North America. However, several indeterminate velociraptorines have also been discovered, dating to the Kimmeridgian stage, in the Late Jurassic Period. Velociraptor is a genus of dromaeosaurid dinosaurs that lived mostly during the Late Cretaceous epoch, about 75 million to 71 million years ago. Fossils have been discovered in Mongolia and China over the last hundred years. Multiple species are currently recognized, although others have been assigned in the past.

In phylogenetic taxonomy, Velociraptorinae is usually defined as "all dromaeosaurs more closely related to Velociraptor than to Dromaeosaurus." However, dromaeosaurid classification is highly variable.

The sculpture is a good size that fits in most collections and most furnitures and shelfs.

The dinosaurs shown in some big Dinosaur Movies from the past (You know the name of the movie, I can´t write it here ;) ) that are called Velociraptor are based in design more on the Deinonychus. A Deinonychus is classified as a similar dinosaur to velociraptor, but they are not the same genus. The Jurassic Park Universe follows an unusual taxonomy of dinosaurs that classified the Deinonychus as a type of Velociraptor. This is why the Deinonychus in the movies and books are called Velociraptors.

The base is made from German beech wood with multiple coats of oil, colored varnish and real violin chellac polish and messing brass rounds. On the underside are felt pad’s. I use only FSC certified wood, it ensures that it comes from a responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.

I’m working with movie and theater props professionally and I use real theater and movie techniques for wheatering the models for looking like old specimens.

The model you will get looks like the one in the photos, but can be a little bit different in some details, because I make and paint them by hand from my own forms. So everyone is unique and gets a number, date and will be signed under the base. I send you a picture of your own sculpture, when it’s ready for shipping.

The model is made with mixed media, epoxy clay and resin parts. I only use the highest quality art paints and materials for my models and make it in my studio in the south of Germany.

Like most of our replica, this unique skull is also made by order. We are making parts for our replicas all the time and finishing it according to your specifications.

Velociraptor-Schädel Modell mit Holz- und Messingsockel im viktorianischen Stil.

Der Holzsockel ist mit echter Geigen-Shellack Politur und Messing Stäben oder Rohren hergestellt. Der Fuß und die gesamte Skulptur wird mit Techniken aus Film und Theater speziell gealtert, um wie echt alt auszusehen.

Auf der Unterseite befinden sich Filzgleiter.

Das Dinosaurier Modell, das Sie erhalten, sieht aus wie auf den Fotos, kann aber in einigen Details etwas abweichen, da ich es von Hand aus meinen eigenen Formen herstelle und bemale.

So ist jeder Schädel einzigartig und bekommt eine Nummer, ein Datum und wird unter der Basis von mir signiert.

Das Modell besteht aus Mischtechnik, Epoxid-Ton, 3d Harz und Polyurethanharz. Ich verwende dafür nur die hochwertigsten Künstlermaterialien und Farben und fertige sie in meinem Studio-Atelier im Süden von Deutschland.
